TRANSFER STUDENT SUPPORT

Orientation for Transfer students is designed to create a similar introductory experience that all new Lehigh students go through, while also fostering an environment for you to meet and get to know other students transferring into Lehigh University.  We recognize that you have been to college before. We hope that these programs and conversations help distinguish Lehigh from your previous institution, while not to devalue the growth that has occurred along the way.

Transfer students will be placed into one of two groups with other transfer students. These groups will be led by our Transfer Orientation Leaders. The Transfer Orientation Leaders are upper class students that will help guide you through your four-day Orientation experience.

Additionally, each transfer student is assigned an academic advisor within their college or program, providing personalized guidance throughout their academic journey. Lehigh also fosters collaboration across departments to connect transfer students with resources and opportunities that enhance their university experience.

FINANCES

Lehigh University is committed to meeting 100% of the demonstrated financial need for all admitted students. Because meeting every admitted student’s demonstrated financial need requires adequate funding, students must indicate that they are seeking aid and submit all necessary documents at the time they submit their admission application.

If you are seeking aid, while you are not eligible for the guaranteed pathway, Lehigh University encourages you to apply through the Verto Direct Transfer Application to be reviewed holistically for admission. Learn more about applying for Financial Aid at Lehigh here.

With over 200 student clubs and organizations—including academic, cultural, recreational and service groups—Lehigh offers countless ways to explore your interests and connect with peers. Around 91 % of undergraduates participate in at least one extracurricular activity, making it easy to shape your own unique experience on campus. From leadership in the Greek community to starting your own organization, you’ll find opportunities to make meaningful contributions and establish lifelong connections.

At Lehigh University, transfer students are welcomed into a vibrant campus community with access to a variety of on-campus housing options designed to support a smooth transition. While first- and second-year students are required to live on campus, transfer students are offered housing on a space-available basis and can apply once they’ve submitted their enrollment deposit and set up their Lehigh email.

Global learning is an integral part of the student experience at Lehigh—around 40% of students participate in a study abroad or international program during their undergraduate years. Through semester, summer, and faculty-led programs in more than 60 countries, students gain hands-on experience that complements their academic and career goals. Transfer students with previous international study—such as Verto participants—bring valuable global perspectives that align closely with Lehigh’s emphasis on intercultural learning and engagement.
